Why a Dream Academy?

Learning to dream means reclaiming a forgotten fragment of the human experience.
Human beings began documenting their dreams long before writing was invented. Cave paintings offer us a glimpse of how daily practices such as hunting were deeply connected to shamanic dreamwork; nowadays, some traditional cultures from around the globe still begin their days by gathering as a family and narrating their dreams of the previous night in search of symbols and omens. Furthermore, dreams are at the foundation of all world religions as a vehicle for prophecies and messages from the divine realms.

Beyond the strictly religious and spiritual, dreaming can be used as an adjuvant to enhance mental health and personal growth. By opening a window to our subconscious mind, dreams can reveal hidden aspects of our personality and make us aware of those unconscious behaviours and beliefs we have acquired throughout our lives.

What can I learn at this dream academy?
The general writing of dreams surpasses the phonetic
writing and once again
puts the word in its place.

Jacques Derrida, Of Grammatology
Dreams are a writing system unique to each human being. This system, instead of representing sounds, constitutes a collection of visual and emotional signs whose meaning derive from personal experiences and cultural archetypes.

Agora Nocturna aims to provide people from around the world with the necessary tools and resources to decipher their own individual dream language. By doing so, human beings acquire the proficiency to communicate with their subconscious mind, access trauma, and heal wounds deeply concealed beyond the limits of reason and logic.
As sophisticated as this may sound, the method proposed begins with the recollection and the documentation of dreams in order to identify patterns.

Okay, this sounds really cool, but how much will it cost me?
Only what you are
willing to contribute.

This is my gift to you.
Agora Nocturna runs on donations as I firmly believe that the information shared on this website should be open and free to anyone interested in improving their lives through dreamwork. Usually, the people who cannot afford to enroll in a course or hire a coach are the ones who need it the most. I know. I have been that person, too.

I do need your help, though, to make the website sustainable. Each donation, no matter how small, helps to pay for the basic services including our domain and hosting. Remember, this is a work from the heart, developed entirely by yours truly.

Susana Arango Moreno graduated Magna Cum Laude in Languages and Sociocultural Studies from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. She has spent the last fifteen years working as an educator but her real passion is research.
From an early age, she developed an interest in Asian philosophy, especially Zen Buddhism, which later led to a fascination with postmodernism, psychoanalysis, and shamanic dream practices from around the world.
Recently, she has decided to leave her previous role as an international teacher to dedicate her time to the design and creation of Agora Nocturna as an effort to give back to society and share her own healing experience.

As an empath and a highly sensitive person, Susana enjoys spending time with her two cats, crocheting, and cooking for her family and friends.
